Prime candidates for a Heart Scan are men age 40-plus and
women age 45-plus or with one or more risk factors for
heart disease, such as smoking, high blood pressure, high
cholesterol or a history of cardiac disease in the family.
What should I do to prepare for my Heart Scan?
You should fast for two hours prior to your exam.
How much radiation will I receive?
The dose is equivalent to living a year in Denver and being
exposed to the natural background radiation found there.
